Caring for someone with an acquired brain injury: The role of psychological flexibility

Caring for someone with an acquired brain injury (ABI) is associated increased psychological distress and reduced satisfaction life. Caregiver negative appraisals predict these poor outcomes, social support adaptive coping buffer effects. Psychological flexibility beneficial in dementia caregiving but has not been studied ABI never comparison to known predictors of caregiver distress. This study examined predicting depression, anxiety life caregiving. A cross sectional online survey gathered responses 145 caregivers, recruited through media, charities National Health Services. Standardised measures disability, appraisals, support, coping, flexibility, were analysed correlation, regression conditional process analysis.
